In trade shows, the most creative booth is usually the most popular. These booths receive a large volume of visitors which also means that they can successfully convert leads. Trade shows are becoming increasingly competitive; if you want your business to stand out, your exhibit display and booth need to make a huge impact. In designing a trade show booth, keep the following principles in mind.
Make your booth engaging and interactive
Passive activities such as videos will not effectively bring in the number of visitors you want. These days, consumers are more drawn to interactive and engaging activities. What you can do to attract attendees is host games and activities where participants have a chance to win prizes. The more time they spend in your booth, the more likely they are to interact with other visitors. You can also use games to gather information about your target audience by asking them to fill out a survey. In addition to games, product demonstrations are also an excellent idea.
Display text needs to be readable, minimal, and at waist height
An exhibition display stand should not be crowded with too much information. Keep messages brief and impactful. Your company logo should always be prominent in these displays so that visitors can easily recognise and remember it. Exhibits should be higher than four feet, but not too high.
Negative space can be useful
Avoid overcrowding your booth by strategically using negative space. In choosing furniture, use lightweight and simple pieces and do not use large and clunky tables and chairs in your booth. A small amount of space will help visitors remain comfortable while looking around your booth. Keep your exhibit clean at all times and remove clutter when you see attendees coming over to your booth.
Negative space is also another principle you need to follow when designing graphics and text for your displays. Display visuals should not overpower the message. The message needs to stand out more than the images because images are only supposed to complement the text and make it look more appealing.
Make sure that you use the right format and resolution for images
Images used in trade show displays need to be high-quality and vivid. As much as possible, hire a professional graphic designer to create the presentation and avoid the risk of having blurry photos in your booth displays.
Branding consistency
Trade shows are the perfect time to introduce your brand to the public. In designing your booth, your brand needs to be consistently displayed from top to bottom. Every design element, including your promotional giveaways, need to bear the name of your company.
What is ‘graphical real estate’?
There are specific sections of your booth that are more visually significant than others. For example, if you have a small to medium sized booth, you need to make good use of the back wall because this will be the focal point of your display. The focal point of your booth needs to contain all the crucial information you want to convey to booth visitors which will grab their attention and create maximum impact.
